Personal defense preparation is far more than going to the range and shooting at paper targets. This seminar will put you, and any family members you bring with you, in realistic scenarios where you will have to decide what your best option is, whether you carry a gun or not. Can I walk away? Is pepper spray an option? If I must use my gun what actions should my family take? If I'm not alone what are each individual's responsibilities in a defensive situation? If I don't carry a gun what options do I have?
Family guidelines for the class - If you have kids, parents, physically/mentally challenged people in your daily life you need to be able to protect them, bad things can happen anywhere at anytime. Including them in the class brings a whole new set of concerns to your response to a critical situation. All ages and abilities are welcome. If they get too disruptive I may ask you to take them outside long enough to calm them down, but you will still get a huge benefit from the class. During scenarios where you are the citizen defender you will have to deal with it, just like you would in a real life scenario. I think that makes the training even more effective for your day to day life, as these are things you will have to work around to stay safe.
Every family member residing in the same household is welcome at the family price. Kids need to be able to be fairly quiet for 20-30 minutes at a time. Obviously if someone needs to step away to take care of the little ones that is perfectly acceptable.
We have a lift for wheelchairs to get into the classroom. It will be a challenge moving around in the parking area due to gravel, I will assist you in any way possible.
We will be using a combination of red guns. shot indication laser pistols, inert pepper spray (water), training medical supplies and other tools during decision making scenarios run against other students. None of our training aids fire any type of projectile, so you don't need to worry about anyone getting hurt from that.
DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS ABSOLUTELY NO SELF DEFENSE TOOLS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO KNIVES, GUNS, PEPPER SPRAY, TASERS, STUN GUNS, KUBATONS, ETC. ALLOWED IN THE VICINITY OF THE CLASS. YOU WILL BE PATTED DOWN BY A MINIMUM OF TWO PEOPLE PRIOR TO PARTICIPATION IN THIS CLASS
This is a serious class based on realistic real world scenarios, not a first person shooter game trying to see who can shoot first, fastest or most number of rounds. The best outcome you can hope for is that you do not have to draw your training firearm at all.
