The day of class you need to bring:
DO NOT BRING ANY LIVE AMMUNITION INTO THE CLASSROOM!
1. Pen/Pencil to write with. Highlighters are a good idea but not required.
2. Lunch/Snacks/Non-alcoholic beverages to get you through the full
day. We will have a working lunch, no time to leave the range.
3. Eye and ear protection.
4. Range appropriate attire (baseball cap/crew collar shirt (no plunging necklines), closed toe shoes)
5. Clothing appropriate for the weather that day.
6. A shotgun suitable for trap and 200 rounds of ammunition for the class. 7 1/2 shot or smaller. DO NOT BRING ANY LIVE AMMUNITION INTO THE CLASSROOM!
7. Most important A GOOD ATTITUDE FOR LEARNING. An inquisitive mindset is a positive thing.

9. A laptop computer.
INSTRUCTOR QUALIFICATION STANDARDS - Each instructor candidate must pass the following test:
Complete one round of trap (25 targets) from the 16 yard line, achieve a minimum 13 hits on target. You will be allowed up to two additional attempts if necessary.
Some things that you could do to help make the class easier for you:
1. Go touch, handle, fondle, caress as many different types of
shotguns as possible. This includes new and antique bolt action, semi-automatic, pump action, break-action, lever-action, muzzleloading and any other type you can find. Get the basic idea of how to load, unload and fire the different types of guns if at all possible. Hangout at your local gun store and ask lots of questions.
2. Shoot as many different types of these guns as possible.
3. Get as much range time in as you can, either at our range or anywhere else and practice shooting trap.
