Registration is closed

The National Rifle Association’s Women on Target Program and the Lemon Grove Rod and Gun Club sponsor Pistol, Rifle, and Shotgun Shooting Clinics in Alpine, CA. These clinics are an introduction to shooting sports and an opportunity to meet other women interested in learning firearms safety and handling. All women are welcome. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian throughout the clinic.

All equipment, firearms, ammunition eye/ear protection, and instructional material will be provided. Each clinic will introduce and instruct up to 42 women in the safe handling and use of .22 caliber rifles and handguns as well as 12/20-gauge pump shotguns. Larger-caliber centerfire handguns may also be available. Please do not bring your own firearm or ammunition without first obtaining permission from the Clinic Coordinator. Each woman will receive one-on-one instruction at each venue by an experienced instructor/mentor. NRA Certified Instructors will provide a safety briefing at each venue prior to the start of shooting. All venues will be overseen by NRA Certified Range Safety Officers for a safe, relaxing, and fun-filled day.

Payments are due immediately at the time of registering on this website. The system will time out if you have not paid and you will not be registered. If you don't pay, you are not registered. You may only register one person at a time. There are no refunds nor are walk-ins accepted. Please arrive at the Lemon Grove Rod and Gun Club between 7:15 a.m. and 7:50 a.m. for check-in and safety equipment. A mandatory safety class begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. at the first venue you are assigned to. This class is required for you to be able to shoot at this clinic, so please be on time. The clinic will end around 12:00 p.m. Wear comfortable tennis shoes and a shirt that covers your arms. Per our S.O.P., open-toe shoes or flip-flops are prohibited. Long pants or jeans (Capris are fine) and please, no shorts. Due to the ejection of hot cases at the handgun portion of the program, no low-cut or V-neck tops. We also recommend a baseball hat or visor to protect your face from the sun. Our club is outside, and you will be walking on dirt and gravel. The gate will be locked at 8 a.m., and no late guests accepted. If attending with friends, we will do our best to try and put you on the same squad. There are no more than 15 per squad.
